Abdul Rehman Yaser

Hi! I'm Abdul Rehman Yaser — call me Yaser, Abdul, or 야서 in Korean. I'm originally from Pakistan but spent my whole life in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia; these days three places feel like home: Daejeon, Jeddah and Multan. Off the keyboard I enjoy ice skating, horse riding, driving and music.

Managing developers & R&D at Fastnet · Part-time · Remote

BSc, double major in AI Computing & Business Technology Management, KAIST

Daejeon, South Korea · from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia

I started building websites for Fastnet's clients in 2021 and have shipped e-commerce, ERP, point-of-sale and showroom systems since. In 2024 I moved into managing the developers and R&D — part-time and remotely, from Daejeon.

At KAIST I'm doing a double major in AI Computing and Business Technology Management.

Professional work

Some notable projects I've worked on at Fastnet.

Rolls-Royce Riyadh logo

Rolls-Royce Riyadh

Automotive

The Rolls-Royce Motor Cars showroom in Riyadh.

What I did

Completed this project solo — scoped, built and delivered the whole system myself. Built internal software for the showroom: a lead-tracking module recording customer interest per vehicle and follow-ups, a sales module for optional extras and accessories with pricing and quotes, and a guided car-handover workflow with checklists so every delivery follows the same process.

Akoya Water logo

Akoya Water

Water delivery

A Saudi bottled-water brand delivering to homes and businesses.

What I did

Working with the Fastnet team, built the e-commerce platform end to end — product catalogue, cart and checkout, order management and an admin dashboard — on a REST API that also powers the customer mobile app (ordering, order tracking and account management). Handled the database schema, authentication and the deployment pipeline.

Automotive services

Car wash, maintenance and inspection centres across Saudi Arabia.

What I did

As part of the Fastnet team, built the point-of-sale, stock management and monitoring software used in the centres: a web-based POS with receipts and service tickets, an inventory ledger with stock movements and low-stock alerts across branches, and a monitoring dashboard with live service and sales metrics — all on a shared backend with role-based access. Integrated ZATCA e-invoicing so every POS receipt is generated, signed and reported as a compliant electronic invoice. Later took over the project solo — maintaining it, shipping new features and handling the client directly.

Insurance

Authorized Policy Insurance Brokers — an insurance brokerage operating in Saudi Arabia.

What I did

With the Fastnet team, designed and built their internal system as a modular web application: CRM (leads, clients, policies), task management with assignments and status tracking, an HR module (employees, leave, payroll inputs) and double-entry accounting with reporting. The biggest piece was migrating a non-normalised database from their old accounting software — records back to 2009 — into a properly normalised relational schema: profiling the legacy data, writing SQL and Python ETL scripts, de-duplicating and reconciling ledgers, and validating balances before cut-over. Almost nine months of work. Later integrated LLMs through the OpenAI API: automatic extraction of policy and client details from uploaded documents into CRM records, classification and routing of incoming tasks, and a RAG-based assistant that answers staff questions over the company's own data.

Samaraya logo

Samaraya

Travel

An online travel platform for finding and booking hotels worldwide.

What I did

Working in a team, built the travel product as both a mobile app and a web app on a single backend: hotel search and filtering, booking flow with availability and pricing, user accounts and booking history, plus an admin side for managing inventory — with a REST API shared by both clients.

Muhasib Pro logo

Muhasib Pro

Accounting software

A bilingual accounting system for Saudi businesses — invoicing, inventory, point of sale, payroll and multi-branch accounting with ZATCA Phase 2 e-invoicing built in.

What I did

Worked with the team on the accounting platform's AI features: OCR plus LLM extraction that turns uploaded invoices and receipts into structured, categorised ledger entries, and the API integrations around ZATCA e-invoicing.

Gulf Computer Mall logo

A Saudi online retailer of computers and technology — printers, storage, networking and accessories from brands like HP, Western Digital and SanDisk.

What I did

In a team, worked on the store's e-commerce platform — storefront, product catalogue and the backend it runs on.

Personal projects

A few things I built on my own time.

Self-Service Car Wash Kiosk poster

Self-Service Car Wash Kiosk

Node.js · 20th Nov, 2023

A web-based kiosk for a car wash, built on Node.js. The customer picks their car type and service, verifies with an OTP, pays, and gets a receipt with a QR code that starts the wash when scanned — each code is single-use so it can't be replayed.

  • Car type and service selection
  • OTP verification before checkout
  • Payment and receipt generation
  • Single-use QR code that triggers the wash

Job Tracking, Reporting & Payroll Management System poster

Job Tracking, Reporting & Payroll Management System

Node.js · 9th Jul, 2023

A time-tracking and payroll tool for teams spread across time zones. Admins create groups with their own currency, overtime ratio, duty hours, weekends and schedule type; employees clock in and out of work sessions and breaks from their panel. Admins see live status and can generate reports for any date range with regular hours, overtime and pay.

  • Admin and employee roles
  • Groups with currency, overtime ratio and duty hours
  • Anytime vs fixed schedules with late-start deductions
  • Live status board and date-range reports

Certificates

Most of what I know came from YouTube, and far more from working at Fastnet than from any course — but some of the certificates I picked up along the way are below.
